Creation of a pendulum with dynamic parameters in Flash

Home > Flash > Math Physics
This is a tutorial demonstrating how to use math to simulate the movement of a pendulum, until it stops, taking advantage of two elementary mathematical functions, which is "sine" and "power", with the possibility to dynamically vary the parameters that regulate the movement of the pendulum

Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables - deceleration made somew

Home > Flash > Math Physics
i think realistic motion is a chronically under-represented discipline when it comes to tutorials. i see lots of tutorials that focus on moving objects around the screen, but few that factor in decelleration, which adds a classy touch, and creates something of an "inertia" effect.in this tutorial, we're going to be creating an object (i used an apple), that will randomly resize, move, and rotate when a button is pressed. all using some simple deceleration code to give things a nice feel. you're going to need a fairly good grasp of intermediate actionscripting techniques and at least Flash 5, but all the math is fairly basic... hell, i wrote it and i'm no einstein. ;)

Mass Collision Detection

Home > Flash > Math Physics
The goal of this tutorial is to demonstrate an efficient way to detect collisions between multiple instances two movie clips. When you're finished with this tutorial you will understand an efficient method for detecting collisions between multiple instances of one movie clip and multiple instances of another movie clip, and be able to apply that knowledge.

Flash Physics Study

Home > Flash > Math Physics
Gravity and collision models have significant applications to Flash. They can be used in game design, movies, or simply just as models. In this article, I'll explain how to create a simple implementation of gravity and collision using the trusted bouncing-ball model

Creating Eyes That 'Watch' The Cursor

Home > Flash > Math Physics
Welcome to this tutorial, we hope you can learn somthing about Flash interactivity from it! This tutorial is split into three parts: The Movie Guidelines for setting up the movie, ready for adding our actions. The Good Stuff Here we work through the script that will generate the mouse interaction. Advanced Use Here i discuss some other ways that the skills taught in this tutorial can be developed to create more complex projects.
